Bastrop’s newest gem: Inside the Del Webb Lost Pines community

Sponsored by: PulteGroup

Del Webb, a leader in active adult community development, is introducing its upcoming project in Bastrop: Del Webb Lost Pines. This new community promises an exceptional lifestyle, featuring world class amenities, thoughtfully designed homes and strong ties to the surrounding area.

Nestled within the master-planned community The Colony, Del Webb Lost Pines will consist of approximately 500 homes across three series types, offering a variety of floor plans to suit different preferences.

“We have a wide range of plans that are designed to enhance active adult lifestyles while also focusing on single story living,” Vice President of Sales Ashley Ellis said. “Some of our plans have options to add a loft, but the main living areas for all of our homes are on the first floor.”

From downsizers seeking efficient living to those needing more space, the homes will range from 1,200 to over 3,000 square feet.

“Residents have options. If they truly want to downsize, or if they want to stay in a similar size to what they currently have, there’s a floor plan for it,” Ellis said.

The choice of Bastrop was no accident. Known for its small-town charm and proximity to Austin, the area is ideal for Del Webb’s target demographic. Residents will enjoy the convenience of nearby shopping, medical facilities and entertainment options, all while benefiting from the beauty of the region’s natural surroundings.

“For Del Webb, we are always seeking communities that have the lifestyle the active adult buyer is looking for. Bastrop has the essential necessities and a captivating charm that the active adult buyer desires,” Vice President of Land Development Stephen Ashlock said.

With its blend of modern convenience and natural appeal, Bastrop offers the perfect setting for an active, connected lifestyle.

Del Webb Lost Pines promises an array of amenities designed to foster community engagement. The amenity center will feature state of the art fitness facilities, including resistance training equipment, group fitness rooms and even a golf simulator. Social spaces such as meeting rooms, event areas and outdoor venues will host community gatherings, food truck events and concerts. Popular activities like pickleball, bocce and swimming will also be integral to the community experience.

“We keep up with trends and make adjustments to the amenities. What is an active adult buyer wanting to see? The transition from tennis to pickleball is an example; also, food trucks and wine tastings. We listen to what the future residents want included in the community,” Ashlock said.

To ensure every day offers opportunities to connect and engage, a dedicated Lifestyle Coordinator will organize clubs, outings and events tailored to residents’ interests.

Looking forward, the company aims to expand further, offering similar developments across Texas and beyond.

“We're really excited about this community, and we think it's going to be super successful. Hopefully we'll be able to get more land for more Del Webbs in the future,” Ellis said.

For those interested, Del Webb will offer a unique VIP experience, including early access to homesite selections.

With construction underway and a grand opening planned for early 2026, Del Webb Lost Pines is set to redefine active adult living in Central Texas.
