JLAFit Athletics empowers Celina's fitness community with personalized training and unmatched support

JLAFit Athletics in Celina is quickly becoming a key player in the local fitness scene. Founded by Jesse La Forgia, a certified strength and conditioning coach with nearly two decades of experience, the gym offers a unique approach to strength and conditioning. Jesse La Forgia’s vision for the facility’s impact is clear: He aims to inspire clients to reach their true potential, both physically and mentally, with every session. He first opened JLAFit in Frisco, after training at the world renowned Exos. In 2024, he and his wife, Lisa La Forgia, moved the gym to their property in Celina.

“I want everyone to perform like a better human being,” Jesse La Forgia said. “We can do so much with our bodies, and I don't want to be limited by basic training. I want to show people that we can train like athletes.”

Women training

JLAFit offers a dynamic and structured class schedule, with training available six days a week. Each day brings a new challenge, as the gym alternates between different muscle groups and cardio levels. In addition to the varied daily workouts, the gym refreshes its class programming every month, providing members with new exercises and training methods to keep things exciting and avoid monotony. Whether it’s strength training, cardio or functional exercises, JLAFit offers something new every time clients step through the door.

Jesse La Forgia has honed his expertise through years of working with professional, college and high school athletes, as well as clients across the fitness spectrum. JLAFit Athletics has become a destination where athletes and fitness enthusiasts of all levels can build the strength and confidence to unlock their full potential.

“We had a mom come in. She hadn't worked out in years and was very limited in her mobility and her strength,” co-owner Lisa La Forgia said. “She never gave up. She kept coming, and she got stronger. She felt more confident, and that’s what we want to see.”

What sets JLAFit apart is its personalized, results-driven training. Every workout is tailored to meet the needs of each participant, ensuring beginners and seasoned athletes alike are consistently challenged.

“I work hands-on with everyone,” Jesse La Forgia said. “We have such a great mix of experienced members who have been training for a while and a lot of newbies. So even in a class of 10 to 20 people, I get to spend most of my time with the newbies. I can give them personal training while still correcting and challenging the experienced members."

JLAFit’s commitment to consistency and accountability fosters a strong sense of community, where members support each other’s fitness journeys. This camaraderie creates an environment where everyone feels encouraged, making it easier to stay on track and achieve personal goals.

“A lot of people find it fun to be in a group. Everyone gets motivated, and we push each other in a friendly way. We also hold each other accountable. If we don’t see somebody in class, we’ll call or text them to make sure everything is okay. It's very personal,” Lisa La Forgia said.

Kids training

The gym’s midweek, midday classes offer a popular option for parents and professionals looking to fit in a workout without disrupting their schedules. With class times at 6 a.m., 10 a.m., 11 a.m. and 5 p.m., there’s flexibility for anyone wanting to train before or after work or during lunch. JLAFit offers evening classes for youth and high school/college athletes, and additional class times will be added with membership growth.

More than just a place to work out, JLAFit Athletics is a community that challenges people to achieve their goals. With a focus on personalized training, accountability and support, JLAFit is making a lasting impact on Celina and beyond. Whether you’re training for a sport, improving your fitness or simply looking to feel better, JLAFit provides the tools and support to help you succeed, regardless of your starting point.
