Hutto’s upcoming master-planned community Flora is unique in its focus on social connection and outdoor living.

The 835-acre site is being developed by Empire Continental Land, a Houston-based boutique developer. The project will include approximately 2,800 homes when fully built out, offering a range of designs and price points to appeal to diverse buyers.

Flora’s first phase will feature 40-, 50-, and 60-foot lots, as well as 40-foot alley-loaded homes with garages at the rear of the property. Seven builders are involved, collectively offering more than 60 floor plans. Homes will range from the low $300,000s to the high $700,000s, designed to meet the needs of first-time buyers, growing families and empty nesters alike.

Model homes from seven builders are set to open in December, with sales beginning soon after.

A key feature of Flora is the Market Square—a central recreational hub—which recently broke ground and is expected to open in summer 2025. The space will host community events such as concerts and festivals, and will include trails, a pool, a splash pad and open gathering areas.

“We want our communities to be centered around social connection and knowing your neighbors,” ECL Marketing Manager Matthew Gombar said. “When you live in Flora, it's a smaller, tight knit group of people that have this experience of growing together and establishing long, lasting friendships.”

Other notable amenities include:
  • Bloom House: Flora’s central hub that includes a game room, coffee bar and coworking spaces and fitness center
  • The Well: a resort-style pool that features a deep blue bottom with a shallow beach entrance
  • Primrose Park & Splash Pad: a vibrant kids zone where they can enjoy swings, slides, climbing structures and playable fountains
  • Event Lawn - Holiday markets, concerts, and festivals
  • Pocket Parks and Wildflower trails
  • The Haven: outdoor patio and lounge with fire pit
Empire Continental Land is also hiring a full-time lifestyle director to coordinate activities and events, aiming to foster community engagement among residents.

Starting in early 2025, the lifestyle director will be available when individuals come to visit the community to meet prospective residents and share details about upcoming programs and activities.

“Our lifestyle director will lead tours of the model homes, Market Square area and they'll play a central role in our commitment to bringing residents together for community events ,” Gombar said.

Flora is being developed with a focus on integrating into the Hutto community. The developers are collaborating with local organizations such as the Hutto Education Foundation and Chamber of Commerce and are looking to contribute to the city’s growth.

With its prime location, stunning amenities, and strong sense of community, Flora is poised to become one of the most sought-after neighborhoods in the Austin area.
