As the holidays approach, Heritage Farmstead Museum is set to illuminate North Texas with its annual Lights on the Farm event. Set against the backdrop of the historic farmstead, which features 13 original buildings from the late 19th century, the 4.5-acre historical site will be professionally designed with over 1.5 million lights by First Choice Lights. Visitors will experience dazzling displays, scenes and characters creating a festive holiday experience.

"It's a unique event that has become a holiday tradition for many families across North Texas.” Kathy Wilson, vice president of marketing, development and livestock, said. "Visitors come to enjoy the spirit of the holidays and discover a community treasure worth visiting year-round."
In addition to the light displays, Lights on the Farm offers 5 themed nights, featuring characters such as princesses, super heroes, storm troopers and the grinch. Fun filled activities include pig races, pictures with Santa, face painting and photo ops—perfect for creating lasting memories.

Concessions such as s’mores, hot chocolate, hot mini donuts and fresh popcorn are available for purchase, provided by title sponsor H-E-B. Additionally, as part of their campaign to promote childhood literacy, H-E-B will gift visitors a storybook to take home.

“This event has become such a heartwarming experience, that it has even become a destination for marriage proposals. Seeing people get down on one knee under the 30 foot Christmas Tree decorated in dazzling lights brings tears to my eyes,” Wilson said. “The crowd gets involved too, making it a joyful event for everyone.”

For adults 21 and older, the Red, White and Lights Wine Walk Night offers a perfect outing, with a ticket providing a souvenir glass and two glasses of wine.
