Located just outside of Austin in Buda, Sunfield is a popular master-planned community known for its extensive amenities and thriving lifestyle program. Even now, more than 26 years after welcoming its first residents, Sunfield continues expanding its list of amenities and activities to further enrich quality of life for its growing community, including Lakeside Amenity Center, its third amenity center which is currently under construction.

“Sunfield has long been the model for how to develop resort living at an affordable price point,” said James Feagin, CEO of Scarborough Lane Development Inc., Sunfield’s developer. “You won’t find any other community in this market with three amenity centers, two lazy rivers and the level of amenities and lifestyle in this price range. We are investing an additional $11 million in Sunfield to build this third amenity center because now more than ever, homebuyers look for communities with built-in fun and lifestyle programming. Sunfield has it all, and we want to be ready for the additional families coming into our community.”

The Lakeside Amenity Center will complement the Sunfield Activity Center, the community’s flagship amenity center, which boasts a junior Olympic swimming pool, splash park, dog park, and amphitheater for concerts and events, as well as Sunfield’s Lazy River Amenity Center.

Sunfield broke ground on the new center this past March and plans to complete construction by the end of the year. Upon the project’s completion, Sunfield will cement itself as the only master-planned community in the area boasting not only one, but two, lazy rivers, as well as additional amenities.

More about Sunfield

Sunfield’s ecosystem of activities furthers its core mission: to provide its community with first-class amenities, a prime location and opportunities for community involvement. Its leadership remains steadfast in enhancing all three aspects.

The community’s Lifestyle Program, directed by a full-time lifestyle director, ensures residents are never at a loss for things to do. From farmers markets and concerts to kids activities and seasonal events, the program averages one major event per month and occasionally invites the local community to participate. Nonresidents are invited to participate in the community’s annual Buda Turkey Trot 5K on Thanksgiving Day to experience the community’s welcoming atmosphere firsthand.

Beyond its robust offering of amenities and activities, Sunfield’s convenient location in Buda also draws many residents to the community, which is situated between Austin and San Marcos along major thoroughfares, making it easily accessible for employment centers throughout the area as well as entertainment destinations like the expansive South Park Meadows shopping center, which boasts major retailers, including Target, JCPenney, Walmart, Best Buy, Ulta and Hobby Lobby, making the community a popular choice for families of all shapes and sizes.

Sunfield homes, residential options

The dynamic mix of housing sizes and styles also makes the Sunfield community an attractive option. Sunfield's builders, including Taylor Morrison, Pulte Homes, David Weekley Homes, Castlerock Homes and Chesmar Homes, cater to residents at all stages of life and provide a diverse range of housing options. By providing a mix of housing options and an inventory of move-in ready homes, growing families can move from smaller to larger homes or from larger homes to smaller homes without sacrificing quality.

This flexibility ensures that Sunfield remains a viable option and home to its residents, regardless of whether they are purchasing a first home or downsizing. Looking ahead, builders continue construction of new builds to meet demand for prospective home buyers looking to set down roots in Sunfield. In addition, Sunfield’s on-site elementary school is currently discussing opening a second elementary school with Hays Consolidated Independent School District.

For those seeking an affordable yet amenity-rich community in one of Central Texas’ most desired neighborhoods, Sunfield continues to raise the bar. With its best-in-class amenities, thriving Lifestyle Program and outstanding selection of homes, Sunfield offers an unparalleled quality of life for residents and families of all ages, sizes and backgrounds.
