Austin Elite Smiles opened its doors Aug. 1, and practice co-founders Dr. Elizabeth Lowery and Dr. Kasey Lowrance are thrilled to welcome new and returning patients from a community they love.

“We're here again, and we've joined forces,” Dr. Lowrance said.

The new dental practice provides the Austin community with a cozy, personalized dental experience delivered by a collaborative team of specialized and general dentists dedicated to building healthy, beautiful smiles from the ground up.

Together, Drs. Lowery and Lowrance share over 30 years of experience. Dr. Lowrance was salutatorian of her graduating class and focuses on general dentistry and preventive care. Dr. Lowery, known for her cosmetic and restorative dentistry expertise, is an accredited member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, a prestigious distinction that sets her apart from Austin-area peers.

Austin Elite Smiles realizes a major dream of Dr. Lowery’s: opening a multi-specialty dental center where a team of dental providers bring unique specializations and expertise under one roof. They’ll be joined by Dr. Chad Orlich, a board-certified periodontist, and Dr. David Myhre, an Air Force veteran with a passion for providing quality dental care to our community.

The Austin Elite Smiles team offers a variety of services, including:
  • Professional cleanings and general dental care
  • Porcelain veneers and crowns
  • Dental implants and implant restorations
  • Invisalign(R)
  • Cosmetic bonding and whitening
  • 3D wellness scans
The team is proud of its patient-first approach that emphasizes time with patients and tailored treatment plans as well as the practice’s state-of-the-art technologies, including a 3D scanner that can show the architecture of the teeth, track wear and movement over time and provide before and after simulations.

Dentistry with integrity

For Dr. Lowery, it’s not just about providing patients with quality work. She’s committed to serving patients with exceptional care in a way that’s also ethical.

“We listen to our patient’s concerns and collaborate with them so they can achieve the result they want,” Dr. Lowery said.

Her dental practice will do what’s best for the patient. She doesn’t see quality dental work as a luxury since she has personally experienced first-hand the impact that a confident smile can have on a person’s life.

“[As a child] I had really bad teeth. They were buck teeth. I had cavities in most of my teeth,” Dr. Lowery said. “My grandmother, she is an amazing lady, and she helped me.”

Dr. Lowery’s grandmother paid for dental care and braces. After the treatments, Dr. Lowery’s self-confidence blossomed. She felt inspired to bring that same joy and confidence to others by becoming a dentist herself.

She even underwent the rigorous process of becoming an accredited member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.

“You have to complete a variety of cases and have to demonstrate that you can achieve high quality esthetic and functional outcomes,” Lowery said. “[The AACD] checks that you can match a single tooth, like doing an implant, for example, or a bridge in a way that nobody can tell there's a missing tooth ... You do chairside bonding so that you, with your own hands, sculpt the tooth and make it look like a natural tooth with the right colors and the right translucency in the right shape.”

Dr. Lowery is proud to bring those skills to patients in the Austin area.

“It's very gratifying,” she said. “You give someone so much confidence again.”

Emphasizing preventive care

While Austin Elite Smiles offers comprehensive cosmetic services, like Invisalign, porcelain veneers, and bonding, and restorative services, like crowns, fillings, dental implants and implant restorations, the dentists stress preventive care, routine maintenance and caring for the gums and supportive tissues of the mouth.

Dr. Lowrance equates the role of gums and supportive tissues to the role of a home's foundation in supporting the house. Like the appearance of a home, a person’s smile can be made to look aesthetically appealing, but the results won’t last unless the patient has a healthy mouth.

Austin Elite Smiles strives to address inflammation and unhealthy gums in all patients in order to prevent systemic issues caused when bacteria from the mouth travels through the bloodstream to other organs like the heart, kidneys, liver and brain.

Taking a comprehensive approach to oral health ensures that patients leave Austin Elite Smiles with a healthy, confident smile built to last.
