Sixteen years ago, Scott Peek had hit a wall when it came to what he wanted his career path to be. After spending 20 years as a corporate technical and consultative sales executive, the crash of the 2008 economy forced him to reevaluate and start to build career number two.

Inspired by his favorite hobby, and gaining encouragement from a few close friends, Peek started his own photography business and has been working with families, students and business leaders since 2009.

Located at 5310 Harvest Hill Road, Ste. 165, Dallas, Scott Peek Photography focuses on capturing portraits and event photography in the immediate Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex area. Peek and his team focus on the client experience, which goes beyond just being a photographer.

“When clients engage with our business, they are looking for services and they're looking for a personal touch,” Peek said. “They're looking for somebody that can help them tell their unique story through portraits. For us, it's always been about the relationships we create with each other, because at the end of the day, they're not buying photos, they're wanting a great experience celebrating a special moment in their lives.”

Bringing that mindset to the business, it's never been about creating award-winning pictures. It’s about discovering the love, relationships, connections and the unique stories that make up each other’s lives. It’s about listening to the client and creating artwork for their walls that celebrates those stories.

Scott Peek Photography focuses on three specific disciplines:
  • Portrait photography: includes families, children, grandparents, empty nesters and high school seniors
  • Branding and headshot photography; including executive and professional headshots
  • Event photography: includes corporate and non-profit events, holiday parties, sales meetings, galas and a few weddings
Family portraits is something Peek excels at, with the motto of the entire business being “capturing the family experience.”

Most families today are hiring a mini-session photographer to take an annual family picture for a holiday card and then share those images on social media. These pictures are rarely printed and seldom hung as wall portraits anywhere in their house.

Instead, when families work with Peek and his team, the focus is to start with a series of discovery calls to engage with each member of the family.

“We want to understand the essence of the unique and individual stories that make up the love and connections that bonds a family together,” Peek said. “Is it a daddy-and-daughter moment? Is it a mother-and-son moment? Is it that the husband and wife focus so much on their children that they forget to share an experience just for themselves? How can we have the families share their unique stories, capture those moments, and create artwork that helps that story come to life visually within the home?”

“It’s a unique experience leading families to deeper connections, and reminding them visually their most precious, and unconditional love with each other”
