First Lonestar Bank has entered the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex by opening a location in Frisco. The branch, located at 2600 Dallas Parkway, Ste. 140, officially opened on July 11.
Community Impact sat down with First Lonestar Bank President Scott Hughes to discuss the bank's services and why they chose to expand to Frisco.
What is the overview of First Lonestar Bank?
Hughes: We opened in January 2023 as a loan production office and operated as one for approximately 16 months. We converted to a full-service banking location with our soft opening on June 3 this year and then had our regular grand opening and ribbon-cutting on July 11.
How does First Liberty Bank connect to First Lonestar Bank?
Hughes: First Liberty Bank, which has its headquarters in Oklahoma City, was established in October 2006 by President and CEO Joey Root with founders Coach Barry Switzer of Dallas Cowboys football, country-western singer-songwriter Toby Keith and commercial real estate developer Hunter Miller. Today, our total assets are over 700 million. First Lonestar Bank is a division of First Liberty Bank.
What services does First Lonestar Bank offer?
Hughes: As a full-service bank, we offer personal and business products and services. We offer multiple personal checking accounts, including a new product, the Kasasa Cash Checking account, a free account that pays you a high interest rate when you qualify. We also offer competitive Certificates of Deposit rates. As a commercial bank, we have many products and services as well. We offer commercial real estate loans, energy loans, equipment loans, working capital and many others. Our business deposit accounts are also very attractive for businesses of all sizes. Our Healthcare Practice Lending division is specifically for physicians, dentists and other healthcare practitioners to assist them with their businesses.
Why did First Lonestar Bank expand into the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex?
Hughes: Before we opened in Frisco, we already had many clients in Texas, whether in DFW, Houston or other areas. We have several customers who operate businesses in both states. In 2022, our executive team decided it was time to look at a Texas location. We looked at several different places around the DFW area. The north DFW market is just phenomenal. The more we researched, the more we realized that this part of the DFW area would be ideal for our first location.
What is the future of First Lonestar Bank in Texas?
Hughes: I foresee we will have future locations in the DFW metro area and other parts of the state. We are more than pleased to be in Frisco and Collin County, but we certainly want to deliver our products and services throughout Texas.
