As the largest Christian school in Montgomery County, The Woodlands Christian Academy has enjoyed over 30 years of success in serving students in pre-K4 through 12th grade.

Located at 5800 Academy Way, The Woodlands, the school is a private college-preparatory school that is seeing record enrollment this year with 860 students. Situated on a 40-acre campus, the school has had tremendous growth over the years in facilities, programs, faculty, staff and students.

“We serve students from pre-K4 through the 12th grade and pull students from both Montgomery and Harris County,” Head of School Julie Ambler said. “Our school’s mission is to raise well-rounded leaders: spiritually, intellectually, creatively, physically and socially for the glory of Jesus Christ. At this time, we are essentially full for the 2024-2025 school year with some limited availability in middle and high school.”

A recent addition to the school is the opening of the new fine arts education building, which opened Aug. 12. The building contains the largest black box theater in Houston, a dance studio, a large band hall, a choir room, theatre and visual arts classrooms, as well as the addition of an outdoor amphitheater.

“We have developed numerous state-of-the-art buildings here on our beautiful campus, and we are excited to add the arts education building,” Ambler said. “As a school, we're known for our rigorous academics with an emphasis on Christian values and teachings. We strive to raise strong moral leaders for the future, and we're known for our winning athletic programs. With our talented and creative students and faculty, we now have the facilities to really advance our visual and performing arts programs.”

With grade sizes of approximately 70, students are able to participate in a wide range of extracurricular activities. It is not unusual for them to participate in both athletics and the arts while assuming leadership positions across campus.

The Woodlands Christian Academy is also set on focusing on its students’ emotional and physical health, as well as their intellectual health. The school has been able to do this by increasing its counseling program by adding more partnerships and counselors.

Above all, the school wants to make sure that its students are receiving a Christ-centric education and can see God’s work through every subject they study.

“We teach our students to understand a world where Christ is central, and the Bible explains the meaning of life to our students,” Ambler said. “All of our faculty and coaches are committed Christians who mentor our students through academics, athletics and the arts. We know we’re very blessed to live in The Woodlands, and we also focus on service-learning and giving back to our community.”
