Although it is best known as a shopping destination, Tanger Outlets is actively involved in the surrounding communities.
“Tanger is committed to promoting healthy and vibrant communities,” Marketing Director Holly Conner said. “Our loyal shoppers and their engagement at the shopping center allows Tanger to invest back into our communities that we serve. We're able to champion those causes that are meaningful to our shoppers.”
This past spring Tanger Fort Worth hosted its first annual Health & Wellness Day in partnership with Medical City Alliance. Individuals received complimentary health screenings, fitness demos and healthy food tastings. The shopping center also raises money for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation and local schools. Conner said that last year, the outlets awarded over $7,000 to local schools and teachers to fund programs that would provide a more inclusive classroom environment.
Tanger Outlets also promotes sustainability by providing electrical vehicle charging stations, installing solar panels on several buildings and its urban beehive.
“A lot of people don't know that we are home to an urban beehive,” Conner said. “We offer beekeeping workshops during the year so that shoppers can be a part of the experience. It helps us maintain environmentally friendly practices as part of our commitment to the planet and our communities.”
