In continuation of its mission to provide quality, comfortable and energy-efficient homes, Sitterle Homes will now offer spray foam insulation as a standard feature in all its Austin Division communities.

Sitterle Homes is a local homebuilding company that started in San Antonio in 1964. In the past 60 years, the company has built over 7,000 homes in Central Texas.

“We decided to make this change because it is a huge benefit for our homeowners in terms of energy bill savings, and it’s a longer-term investment,” Marketing Director Ashely McKee said. “At Sitterle we strive to build a strong home and something that lasts for years to come. We found that spray foam insulation is a product that helps achieve that, so we’re very excited to be rolling it out.”

Spray foam insulation is known for its superior thermal performance, air sealing capabilities and moisture resistance. It fills holes in the frame of the home, eliminating air leaks and drafts that can lead to high energy bills.

One of the standout features of spray foam insulation is its ability to maintain a constant temperature in the attic. Traditional blown-in or batt insulation can lead to attic temperatures soaring up to 145 degrees, whereas spray foam insulation keeps it around 85 degrees. This difference makes accessing the attic more manageable and contributes to the overall energy efficiency of the home.

“If you walk into a house that is pre-drywall but has the spray foam insulation, it is significantly cooler,” McKee said. “You can already feel the impact of the foam before we even have power or air conditioning in the home. It’s like a night and day difference.”

Additionally, this new home feature will not cost buyers any additional money.

“We were able to keep our base prices where they are and still include this feature, so that was an added plus,” McKee said.

Homeowners in Sitterle Homes’ Austin Division communities can expect to see the use of spray foam insulation enhancements on homes with a construction start date after July 15. Some exceptions may apply, home shoppers should consult Sitterle New Home Consultants for details.

Future Sitterle homeowners are welcome to visit a build site and walk through a home under construction to experience the difference spray foam insulation makes. To learn more about Sitterle Homes, visit the company’s website.
