‘More than just hairstyles’: Elevate Barber Studio blends art and service in Frisco

Sponsored by: Elevate Barber Studio

Image description
On a mission to “craft more than just hairstyles,” Elevate Barber Studio provides an elevated customer experience while still maintaining impressive barber work.

Started and owned by Freddy Ybarra, the business is located at 8750 E. Main St., Ste. 204, Frisco, and has been open since June. Opening his own business was something Ybarra had wanted to do since childhood, and he wanted to take the chance on it after previously co-owning another barbershop.

Ybarra was drawn to the creativity of barbering and how it becomes much more than just cutting someone’s hair.

“I like the fact that we're more than just barbers,” Ybarra said. “We’re artists, we’re therapists, and we consult people. Sometimes we give advice. Specifically, I enjoy the art side of it. Everybody has a unique reason as to why they're here and that's where I come in to make them feel confident whenever they leave my chair and bring their haircut to life.”

Service offered at Elevate Barber Studio include:
  • Haircuts
  • Hair and beard lineup
  • Facials
  • Beard trims
  • Eyebrow waxing
  • Hair designs
  • Eyebrow shaping
Elevate Barber Studio strives to provide a customer experience that goes above and beyond most barbershops. By employing well-trained barbers and leaning into a luxury experience, the shop has been immensely successful.

“Most barbershops don't really have good customer service,” Ybarra said. “Our main focus besides the haircut is customer service because I feel like customer service is key to any business for it to thrive. I feel like that's what separates us the most. We offer a variety of complimentary drinks, stuff that not other barbershops really offer. Just the place itself looks a little bit different from regular barbershops.”

Along with great customer service, the barbers at Elevate Barber Studio strive to treat barbering like an art form, instead of just viewing it as a haircut. The barbers treat customers as a blank canvas they are able to transform through sculpting the hair and figuring out what would look best on the client.

Ybarra hopes to continue this success the business has already seen, while also providing opportunities for growth, not only for his employees but also for the business itself.

“Seeing the barbers that come and work with us grow as an individual is really rewarding,” Ybarra said. “I really focus on everybody else's growth as well as the business growth. They start learning new things, not only haircutting-wise as a barber but also as an individual. Sometimes we get barbers who are fresh out of school so they really don't know how to approach a certain situation, and that's where as a business owner I can come and mentor them a little bit, and show them how to approach some things. What I like to see is when they put that into practice, and they start noticing the difference and growth.”
