Owner Tal Shohamy said he was inspired to start Pizza Tova after meeting chef Eliran Buskila on a trip abroad.

“Eliran was giving a workshop on how to make pizza,” Shohamy said. “I tasted the pizza, and it was the best pizza I’d had in my life.”

Shohamy said he wanted to bring this pizza to Cedar Park, so he asked Buskila to come to the U.S. with him, and they opened Pizza Tova last June.

The restaurant serves authentic, Italian-style pizza in a casual atmosphere. Popular menu items include:
  • Margherita pizza: tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, basil and olive oil
  • Pizza Olivia: tomato sauce, goat cheese, kalamata olives, lemon zest, thyme, mozzarella, basil and olive oil
  • Mushroom pizza: cream sauce, mozzarella, basil, olive oil, portobello and champignon mushrooms, oregano and truffle oil
  • Sweet & Spicy pizza: tomato sauce, basil, mozzarella, garlic confit, goat cheese, olive oil, bell peppers, habanero peppers and spicy honey
“Pizza needs to be fun,” Shohamy said. “We're open to experimenting, to creating, and sometimes we just throw some dough and see what happens.”

The restaurant keeps pizza fun by offering a new flavor every month. The Pizza Olivia started out as a flavor-of-the-month, but after hearing positive feedback from customers, it has a permanent spot on the menu.

Prioritizing customer feedback has earned Pizza Tova outstanding reviews on Google and Uber Eats.

“We’ve gotten such great reviews from our customers that we are currently the highest-rated pizza in the Austin metropolitan area,” Shohamy said.

One aspect of Pizza Tova that makes it unique is its commitment to sustainability.

“Our pizza is served in a circular box that fits the shape of the pizza, and the box is totally recyclable,” Shohamy said. “If you put it in a planter or in your garden, because it's organic material, it will decompose and fertilize your plants.”

Another way Pizza Tova sets itself apart from other restaurants in the area is by providing quick service in a laid-back environment.

“It's about hospitality,” Shohamy said. “One of the things that we do differently is we don't nickel and dime you. ...We love to listen to people. We love to get feedback. It's more about treating people like our neighbors and friends. That's the kind of atmosphere that we have here.”

Pizza Tova is located at 200 Buttercup Creek Blvd., Ste. 128, Cedar Park. To learn more or to place an order online, visit the restaurant’s website.

“Our pizza is ready in five minutes, from order to cooking to opening the door and serving it up,” Shohamy said. “So if you just want to grab a quick bite, come on in.”
