Residents in Shenandoah and southern Montgomery County have a new option for personalized eye care following the grand opening of Clarifeye Total Eye Care on March 18. Originally founded in Waco in 2017, the office is located at 110 Vision Park Blvd., Ste. 210, Shenandoah.

Clarifeye Total Eye Care stands out from other optometrist offices due to the personal attention of owner and optometrist Dr. Kim Lam provides for her patients. While many eye exams are now offered virtually, Dr. Lam prides herself on walking patients through every step of the process and explaining in-depth what’s occurring with their vision.

Unlike larger offices, Clarifeye Total Eye Care takes time and care to make patients feel seen and comfortable with their eye treatments and diagnosis.

“It's nice to be able to trust an optometrist that you feel comfortable going to and you want to bring your family to,” Dr. Lam said. “In my office, I sit and discuss imaging with the patient. I think the patients appreciate being able to see what we're actually talking about.”

Dr. Lam splits her time between the new office and the Conroe office, located at 2956 I-45 N., Ste. 700B, which opened in 2021.

While wanting to be closer to home was one reason why she opened the new office, Dr. Lam also wanted to be able to reach more patients in the community.

“The office in Conroe is just for exam services. There's no optical retail side in Conroe, as opposed to my Shenandoah office, which is the full package,” Dr. Lam said. “There's the optical side, you can purchase glasses and contacts. I also do medical visits.”

Dr. Lam utilizes the latest technologies with advanced diagnostic equipment to ensure that each patient maintains optimal eye health. Clarifeye Total Eye Care welcomes new patients and accepts most major forms of insurance.

Services at both offices include:
  • comprehensive eye exams (infants through senior citizens)
  • contact lens exam and fittings
  • specialty contact lenses
  • diabetic eye exams
  • glaucoma testing and treatment
  • cataract diagnosis and post-op care
  • retinal imaging
  • macular degeneration diagnosis
  • refractive surgery consultation and co-management
  • eye emergencies
  • LASIK consultations
  • specialty contact lenses
  • dry eye treatments
Dr. Lam also specializes in examining the pediatric population from six months and up. She participated in a program called Infantsee, which provides free eye exams for infants between six to 12 months. Optometrists recommend for a child's first exam to be at six months, then at three years and then every year while they are in school.

Patients can book eye exam services from 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays, while Wednesdays from 8 a.m.-noon function as appointment days. To book an appointment at Clarifeye Total Eye Care, call 936-270-8331 or visit the website.
