The Outlook at Windhaven’s continuum of care offers flexibility and convenience for seniors, allowing them to enjoy retirement without worrying about maintenance and repairs.
Executive Director Kristen Jordan said the community is leading the future of what residents want out of their living experience.
“What we're offering is what we're calling a Flex Services Plan for the residents,” Jordan said. “People want choices. People want to be able to pick what it is they need and what their preferences are...Our Flex Services Plan allows them to pick the package they would like to have included.”
For example, in Independent Living, The Outlook at Windhaven offers three meals a day, weekly housekeeping and linen service and more, but not everyone wants these services, and some may want additional services besides food. The flexible plan allows residents to customize their meals, housekeeping, personal training and transportation options, depending on how much support they want in a certain area.
The Outlook at Windhaven will be opening this summer and is currently more than 80% reserved. Jordan said future residents are looking forward to the maintenance-free, lock & leave life.
“They are so excited to no longer have to be managing their home,” Jordan said. “...They get to enjoy their retirement years without having to manage the day-to-day things that take up a lot of time and effort. And not only that, it [also] affords them to be able to travel and not have to worry about the house. They can just pick up and go whenever they want, and we take care of everything for them.”
The cottages at The Outlook are opening in April and the main building and common areas are following closely this summer. Jordan said once these buildings open, the community will be hosting a variety of outings, wellness activities and events for residents. The remaining apartments will be available in the fall.
The Outlook at Windhaven offers a host of amenities, including:
- all-day culinary offerings in three dining venues
- fitness center
- studio for yoga and group classes
- pool and whirlpool/hot tub
- on-site salon providing hair services, manicures, pedicures, massages and facials
- dog park and indoor pet wash station
- pickleball court
- community life activities
As a continuing care retirement community, The Outlook at Windhaven will also offer Assisted Living and Memory Support. In addition to 3 meals a day, trained staff can offer assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, changing, or even reminders to do those things, along with medication management.
“We get to know our residents very well, build those relationships and partner with the residents and their families,” Jordan said. “...We want residents to be as independent as possible for as long as they can.”
Jordan said in addition to catering to seniors and their lifestyle, The Outlook at Windhaven is also bringing jobs to the area and is looking to hire 100 team members for the community. There will be job fairs on April 15 and 18 where interested individuals can learn more about a career in the community.
“Our mission is to make each moment matter for those we serve, and we focus on our core values of diversity, integrity, stewardship and compassion,” Jordan said. “We're very excited to build our team, and we're very excited for what we can do as a community as well as being a nonprofit to help and be a resource for our community.”
