Frisco sports enthusiasts have a new adventure awaiting at North Texas Racquet Club, where cutting-edge facilities and expert coaches converge to create a first-of-its-kind experience in the city.

From 9 a.m.-2 p.m. on May 4, NTXRC will host a grand opening event for Frisco residents to explore the premier hangout and workout destination. Attendees are invited to immerse themselves in the action by testing the courts, playing with professional pickleball players and witnessing the ribbon cutting ceremony at 11:15 a.m.

As the festivities unfold, guests can treat themselves to Ruthie’s For Good and Jeremiah’s Italian Ice while they watch professionals and demo racquets in exciting matches. The lucky first 100 arrivals will receive a food truck ticket and food will also be available for purchase.

“Come check us out. It’s a happy place,” PR & Membership Director Alejandra Suárez said. “Our goal is to create a community and a place for you to come and really enjoy yourself. This is a place where you can meet people, you can socialize and you can also get your exercise.”

Rally together

Located at 6545 All Stars Ave., NTXRC’s boasts seven tennis courts, six pickleball courts and four padel courts. For each sport, the club offers open play, tournaments, leagues, and group and private lessons. Players can visit the website or download the app to reserve a court or book a lesson.

“The courts are gorgeous. The tennis and pickleball courts are post-tension surfaces. The padel courts are manufactured in Barcelona. We brought the best of the best.” Suárez said.

Led by Director Omar Trevino, who has decades of experience in the tennis world, NTXRC’s team of professionals are devoted to excellence. Every staff member is certified by either the U.S. Tennis Association or the U.S. Professional Tennis Association—and in May, staff members will be Padel MBA certified. This ensures each member and visitor receives top-notch instruction and support to unlock their full potential.

“It’s like our family here. We’re building a team of people that are so welcoming,” Suárez said.

At NTXRC, the aim is not only to hone athletic skills but also to cultivate an atmosphere where families and individuals can unwind and escape their daily stressors. A green space complete with picnic tables provides the perfect setting for post-match socializing and games of horseshoe.

Looking ahead, the club plans to add a gazebo to the green space, offer a selection of wine and beer, host weekend cookouts on the grill and griddle, and provide convenient snacks and prepackaged sandwiches for on-the-go athletes. It’s all part of a commitment to create a vibrant and inclusive community hub where everyone feels energized and at ease.

Learn to play like a pro

With a coaching tenure spanning eight years in Frisco, Trevino also serves as the driving force behind OT Tennis Academy at NTXRC, which caters to individuals of all ages and skill levels. Whether aspiring to excel in recreational play or pursuing a professional career, students benefit from personalized coaching under Trevino’s mentorship.

“We try to give the same [attention] to everyone and focus as much on the beginners and intermediates as the high performance kids. I think that’s something that sets us apart from others,” Trevino said.

In addition to tennis camps this summer, the academy will launch its inaugural pickleball and padel summer camps where children will have the opportunity to learn how to play.

For those who want to play twice or more a week at NTXRC, Suárez recommends becoming a member to enjoy exclusive perks.
