Lights Fantastic Pro illuminates Austin spaces with expertise

Sponsored by: Lights Fantastic Pro

Image description
With its vast inventory, knowledgeable staff and commitment to personalized service, Lights Fantastic Pro has illuminated the path to extraordinary lighting design in Austin for 50 years.

The company’s showroom at 7532 Burnet Road boasts a curated selection representing over 200 national and international brands. According to store manager Shelley Kravet, the collection reflects the vibrant diversity of Austin’s aesthetic. Styles range from modern to traditional and everything in between.

“In Austin, everything’s in style,” Kravet said. “We’re not the kind of town where you go and see one type of style or interior.”

As the lighting industry witnesses a rise in single-brand storefronts, Lights Fantastic Pro offers a treasure trove in the interior design realm: a team of specialists with dynamic solutions to fit a range of lighting needs.

“By having the ability to navigate their design, vision or drawing, we can work with architects and builders to pinpoint where something could be made better or something out of the ordinary could be used to show the architecture in the best light,” Kravet said.

The Lights Fantastic Pro difference

What sets Lights Fantastic Pro apart is not just its extensive inventory, but its commitment to perfecting projects both large and small. Whether a client is remodeling a space, starting from scratch or simply in the market for a new fixture, its luminaries provide tailored solutions to fit specific visions and budgets.

Here’s a look at what Lights Fantastic Pro offers:
  • Recessed lighting: This type of lighting is built into the ceiling or wall, providing ambient illumination without taking up space.
  • Customizable lighting: From cabinet to cove and track lighting to linear in-wall features, customizable product sets projects apart from the rest.
  • Decorative lighting: This encompasses a wide range of fixtures designed to add interest to a space, such as chandeliers, pendants and wall sconces.
Akin to a personal stylist, Lights Fantastic Pro’s luminaries guide clients through the showroom with purpose, presenting options based on their likes and dislikes. Each of them have earned degrees in design and are dedicated to “lighting intentionally.”

“We are genuinely curious about your project. We are not surface level, we are deep,” Kravet said. “We are going to ask all the big questions to make sure you get exactly what you need, and we go above and beyond to make sure that it will work for you.”

Inside the showroom

The Lights Fantastic Pro showroom experience extends beyond browsing products; it’s about collaboration and problem-solving. Taking a modern approach to shopping, Kravet said that sometimes less is more.

“The lighting industry typically has a very crowded approach, where we’re showing as much as we can [in a showroom]. And now, we try to back away from that personally to show more serene spaces with excellent lighting,” Kravet said. “Then, our own experts on the showroom floor can direct you to similar or different [fixtures] based on what people might like for their own homes.”

Lights Fantastic Pro also has “lifestyle moments” throughout the showroom, which are featured spaces like dining rooms that allow clients to sit and experience fixtures in a realistic scenario.

“We enjoy these quiet moments in our showroom so you can give your stimulated mind a rest and just kind of see the lighting in action, which is really wonderful,” Kravet said.

Two brands currently being featured in the Austin showroom are:
  • Hinkley Lighting: Lights Fantastic Pro is one of Hinkley Lighting’s three premier partners in Texas, which grants its customers exclusive advantages like quicker delivery. Its designs are currently featured in the dining room “lifestyle moments” area.
  • Geo Contemporary: This woman-owned, Brazilian company creates handmade ceramic lighting fixtures. Its fixtures are featured as a part of Lights Fantastic Pro’s “introduction series,” which highlights brands that are new to the United States.
Here are Kravet’s tips for making the most out of a showroom visit:
  1. Bring photos and videos: The luminaries need to see a customer’s space to understand their aesthetic and gain insight into what they’re looking for. If a room or house is under construction, Kravet recommends bringing in photos of different rooms or a previous home.
  2. Book an appointment: The showroom is open to the public and operates on a first come, first serve basis. However, clients can book appointments to set aside planning time with a luminary and get the most out of their visit.
