As a resident of Round Rock, Owner Horacio Ochoa is excited about the opening of Big Frog Custom T-Shirts & More.

Ochoa, who also owns the Big Frog location in Northwest Austin, said the franchise previously had a store in Round Rock for nine years before closing.

“We’re back and it’s a new team with new administration but [we’re offering] the same great service and great products,” Ochoa said.

Big Frog staff members use a process called direct-to-garment (or DTG), which applies water-based ink to print custom designs on items like t-shirts, hoodies, hats, aprons and more. Ochoa said the store can also do screen printing, digital heat transfers, embroidery and help

customers create their own unique designs.

“From a decorating perspective, we can do anything that you can imagine provided the right [amount of] time,” Ochoa said.

Ochoa said about 70% of the customers at the Round Rock location have been local business owners and nonprofit staff. Big Frog has provided employee apparel for local business owners, designs for local events and matching shirts for family vacations. One of the store’s first orders came from firefighters at the Round Rock fire station down the street, Ochoa said.

For individuals who have an idea but aren’t quite sure what they want their design to look like, Big Frog has a team of designers who can help customers bring their design to life at no additional cost.

“We have really experienced designers here that help us put together whatever idea you can come up with,” Ochoa said. “They'll put it together in a beautiful graphic design that is ready to print and they will help you pick the right garment and the right technique based on what your needs are.”

This exceptional customer service is one aspect of the business that sets it apart from others. Another way the business differentiates itself is by helping customers see, feel and try the items so they know what they will get before buying them.

“We have a big inventory of samples here at the store...you can come in, feel them, see what they look like and try them on and then figure out what you need,” Ochoa said. “When you order from online discount printers, you don't get to do that.”

Ochoa said Big Frog also has the ability to make any number of products for a group or individual. With no minimum order number, an individual can walk into the store and order just one shirt for themselves.

“I had a person who had an event...she came in on Friday and she had an event on Saturday and she needed that shirt right away so we put it together at the store,” Ochoa said. “She gave me the logo that she needed, we printed it right there and she walked out with her shirt and she was so happy with it because we were the only ones that could do it in a couple hours.”

Big Frog staff are excited to be back in Round Rock and are looking forward to the store growing with the community.

“It's a thriving community...it's a growing city,” Ochoa said. “It's right in between all these other growing communities like Georgetown, Hutto and Pflugerville. ...We're really excited about it [being open again].”

The Round Rock location is at 206 W. Main St., Ste. 112. To learn more about Big Frog Custom T-Shirts & More, visit the business’ website.
