Landa Eye Center is setting a new standard for personalized eye care in New Braunfels. Originally founded by Dr. Henry Hull in 1976, the business has been committed to helping patients see better, look better and feel better for nearly half a century.

Today the eye practice is expanding to offer services at a second location in River Chase Plaza off Hwy. 306. Located about halfway between New Braunfels and Canyon Lake, the second office will provide better access to care for residents on the northern side of New Braunfels.

The new location will offer the same personalized services clients know and love as well as access to Landa Eye Center’s experienced providers. Both locations have a full-service optical, allowing patients to fill contact lens prescriptions and purchase glasses frames and lenses right at the eye center.

Owner and Provider Dr. Angela Cline, who joined the practice alongside Dr. Hull in 2015, said the thing she loves most about optometry is the ability to improve patients’ lives almost instantly.

“We provide almost instant gratification to solving an issue for a patient, and we do it in a painless manner,” she said. “... We provide a prescription to help people see better and oftentimes they leave the same day with better sight. And so it's a very positive career because of that.”

Landa Eye Center offers a variety of eye care services, including comprehensive, geriatric and pediatric eye exams as well as Optomap retinal imaging and Myopia management treatments. The center also addresses medical eye care issues such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, problems with the retina, dry eye disease, diabetes-related eye issues, cataracts and LASIK co-management.

In addition, the practice offers same-day emergency eye treatments, which is not available at many eye care centers, Dr. Cline said.

“We do offer same-day emergency services, which is a niche that is something that a lot of practices don't provide,” Dr. Cline said. “ ... We don’t turn away anyone who needs help.”

Because Landa Eye Center has four providers on staff, patients can be seen for appointments or emergency walk-ins quickly, Dr. Cline said. Additionally, the four providers come from varied backgrounds and specialize in different areas of optometry which means the doctors are able to troubleshoot any uncommon issues they come across.

The center has also invested in high-quality equipment that gives providers extra information about patients’ eyes.

“Because our practice is so old, we have a lot of equipment that most standard eye doctor offices don't have access to,” Dr. Cline said. “ ... We feel better sleeping at night by having all the extra information and technology to be able to take care of folks at a higher level. So we definitely don't skimp on technology.”

Landa Eye Center also serves the veteran community by providing a discount to active-duty individuals and veterans. The center is in-network with the Veterans Affairs community care network, which means veterans can use Landa Eye Center locations as part of their coverage.

“We basically become a satellite office to the VA hospital that's in San Antonio, so in lieu of veterans having to drive so far to access care, they can use their veteran benefits at our office locally with us,” Dr. Cline said. “We're really proud to be part of that program, and veterans are so thankful to be able to stay within their community to access care.”

Landa Eye Center’s new location is at 6442 FM 306, Ste. 1103, New Braunfels. Learn more about the eye care center at landaeyecenter.com.
