In 2021, Jonathan O'Malley was in the market for a new challenge. With 25 years of experience in the wholesale tire industry, O'Malley was ready to try his hand at business ownership.

When O'Malley met Russ Wagoner, owner of Wagoner Tire at the time, the two clicked and formed a working relationship. When Wagoner was ready to retire, O'Malley decided it was the perfect time to make the change he'd been looking for.

“We both needed a new set of headaches and Wagoner wanted to retire. He was going to close everything down,” O’Malley said. “I was looking for a new set of headaches and trying to get into the retail world and own my own business. We made an agreement and in 2021, I took over his Marble Falls and Dripping Springs locations.”

In a tale of risk turned reward, the shop is now known as O'Malley Tire and Automotive. While the business name has changed, the company is still offering the same high-quality customer service and unbeatable pricing.

The O'Malley Tire and Automotive locations:
  • 1225 Highway 290 W., Dripping Springs
  • 5242 Highway 281 N., Marble Falls
The services include:
  • axle, CV joint and driveshaft repair
  • brake repair
  • roadside assistance
  • steering and suspension system
  • tire pressure monitoring system
  • tire services
  • wheel alignment
  • wheel services
The shop also sells any tire that’s out on the market for cars, trucks and SUVs. When customers show up to get their cars serviced, they can expect quick service time and personable customer service by their well-versed management team and leading industry tire technicians. O'Malley's head mechanic is George Romero. Romero has 30 plus years in the automotive field and has worked for big corporate companies, making him familiar with brands such as Audi, BMW, Mercedes, Honda, Acura, Ford and Chevy.

O’Malley ensures a high level of customer service and earns his customers’ trust by being a one-stop automotive shop that makes customers feel welcome as soon as they step foot inside. O’Malley said it’s also important to him to stay local and build that trust in the surrounding community.

“I'm a big believer in staying local and I'm a big believer in mom and pop shops,” he said.

Another feature that helps build trust is the company’s hassle-free road hazard plan which is offered nationwide. The plan ensures that if anything happens to a tire bought through the shop, the store will replace the tire for free or at what the tire originally cost.

“If it's a $200 tire and you bring it back to us, we will give you a $200 credit to replace that tire,” O’Malley said. “If you're not in our servicing area, you can text or email one of our guys the receipt of your repair and we will issue that $200 right over the phone to your credit or debit card.”

In the future, O’Malley hopes to open a store in the New Braunfels area and start building a customer base there. He also wants to put in a new office and showroom in the Marble Falls store.

“We want to be your one-stop tire and automotive shop,” O’Malley said. “In this business, you have to be competitive in tires and service which we can do 100% of the time. Our team understands that we are in the people business who happen to sell tires, wheels and automotive service. Our vision is to become a household name."

To learn more about O’Malley Tire and Automotive services or to make an appointment, visit the website, stop by one of the stores or call 512-829-4716 for Dripping Springs or 830-693-3849 for Marble Falls.
