Manary: We do home repairs and remodeling. I recruit guys onto my team who are basically running their own businesses. Most of them are one-man shows, and they don't have much support. When they come to me, I give them that support. I have an office staff with two professional customer service reps and we do all the scheduling in the office. We work with the customer to find out what they need to and then we match that customer up with the right guy on the team that's got the right skills.

How does Handyman Connection make sure that customers are happy with the services that they're receiving?

Manary: We give a guarantee in writing, and it's a one-year warranty. My customer service reps will answer the phone, so customers know that they can get a hold of us. We always make sure when the job is done that it's done right. We follow up with the customer to make sure they're happy. That way we ensure that we have good quality on all of our jobs.

Another thing is we do estimates by the job not by the hour. The customer knows upfront how much the job is going to cost and then they can decide whether they want to go ahead with us. And that's kind of how we make sure that nobody is getting cheated.
