Physician Assistant Luis Wilmot Jr., chief operating officer of Bio Balance and Weight Loss Center, said his goal is to provide the best medical weight loss care at the most affordable price.

Wilmot started his career as Physician Assistant in the Army, then worked at a weight loss clinic upon his honorable discharge from service. He said it was rewarding to see the difference in his patients. He started his own weight loss clinic in Round Rock in 2012.

“The standard patient that we normally see is a person frustrated with trying diets and exercise and not seeing results,” Wilmot said.

He said insurance companies rarely cover anything related to weight loss, however he views weight loss as preventative so he works to offer affordable care.

“Ozempic and Mounjaro are truly game changers in the weight loss industry,” Wilmot said. “Insurance doesn't want to pay for them but we work with an FDA-approved pharmacy that has been able to give us the medication at a much more reasonable price so we can offer those better prices to our patients.”

Services offered at Bio Balance and Weight Loss Center include:
  • Weight loss Management
  • IV Vitamin therapy
  • Vitamin injections
  • Anti-aging therapy
  • Body contouring
  • Supplements
“We can help guide them with a good diet, exercise routine and some medical treatment plans,” Wilmot said.

In addition to in-person appointments, the practice offers telemedicine and a patient web portal to make it easy and convenient for patients to get the care they need.

Bio Balance and Weight Loss Center tailors its approach to each client’s unique needs.

“Everybody's different, so we do a consultation and see what exactly is going on with them particularly, “ Wilmot said.

For example, a patient with polycystic ovary syndrome may have difficulty losing weight due to insulin resistance. Wilmot said he encourages low-carb diets and intermittent fasting to patients experiencing insulin resistance. A patient with PCOS could also benefit from hormone replacement therapy through the clinic.

The practice monitors patients' labs and looks at the patient’s overall health, not just their weight, Wilmot said.

“We do baseline labs on some folks to make sure their overall liver, kidney, electrolytes and their thyroids are all functioning normally,” Wilmot said.

Wilmot said his staff contributes to the practice’s success. He said his staff members cheer on his patients on their weight loss journey.

“Patients might try us for the first time just because they're curious or they want some help, but what gets them to come back is my staff,” Wilmot said.

He said the majority of the staff at Bio Balance and Weight Loss have been working with him since he opened the clinic in 2012.

According to the clinic’s website, Wilmot stays up to date with the latest in chronic weight management to best support his patients, and their goals.

“That's the goal: not just treating your weight, but you feeling healthier, you're feeling stronger, you feel like you're going to live longer,” Wilmot said.
