Colleyville Center and Business Center Manager Chelsea Rose said it was special to be involved with so many organizations that have called the center home for many years.
“Colleyville Center is the heartbeat of the city,” she said. “Our slogan is ‘live here, work here, celebrate here’ because that encompasses everything you can do here at the Center.” The Center hosts monthly civic group meetings, non-profit fundraisers, Colleyville Chamber luncheons, social events such as weddings, celebrations of life, and dance recitals, along with city department gatherings and meetings.
Celebrating Colleyville’s history
In 1984, a group of Colleyville residents recognized the need for a central gathering place for social and community events, and formed the concept of the Colleyville Center. Their efforts didn’t go unnoticed, and in 1988, the city formed the Community Center & Library Association Inc. to study feasibility of both projects and plan fundraisers. The group was dubbed ‘The Dream Team.’
Just 10 years later, the groups’ dreams were realized as the Colleyville Community Center celebrated its grand opening on Jan. 10, 1998.
The Colleyville Center was the result of a public and private partnership with land donated by Herman J. Smith and funding raised through private donations and municipal bond sales.
City Council approved the name change from Colleyville Community Center to Colleyville Center in November 2002; unveiled at a dedication of the bridge and 5th Anniversary Celebration on Jan 10, 2003.
Rose said instead of having a big party this year, the Colleyville Center team wanted to pay homage to its start and pour back into the community, celebrating everything that residents and visitors have been doing for 25 years. On the roadshow, Colleyville Center sponsored and attended a variety of local events.
“We get to be a part of every celebration that residents and visitors have in this community,” Rose said.
Here’s a roadmap to the roadshow:
- Colleyville Woman’s Club Fashion Show
- Colleyville City Fair
- Colleyville City Car Show
- Colleyville National Night Out
- Colleyville Chamber Golf Tournament
- Colleyville Chamber Women of Worth Leadership Luncheon
- Colleyville City Tree Lighting
- Colleyville Garden Club Christmas Luncheon
- Grapevine-Colleyville Education Foundation New Educators Luncheon
- Grapevine-Colleyville Education Foundation Golf Tournament

Opportunities with Colleyville Center
In 2020, the Colleyville Center family extended to the Colleyville Business Center, which houses the Colleyville Chamber of Commerce and serves as the central hub for business resources in the City of Colleyville.
In her role, Rose oversees community engagement and economic development. Over the years, Colleyville Center has both been supported and helped support city initiatives.
“It starts with the center, taking care of our residents and businesses through hospitality community engagement,” Rose said. “We're able to use that to fuel our economic development in the rest of the city with the joy and momentum created here in a synergetic cycle.”
At the end of the day, Rose said she wants community members to know how to utilize the resources Colleyville Center provides.
“We provide a service to our residents and visitors,” Rose said. “It's not just an event center—it's a place that's giving back to the community and giving the community a space to grow and celebrate.”
The multi-use space can be used for a variety of activities, and individuals can create a picture-perfect wedding, host an impressive business retreat or celebrate a special social event.
The center offers both resident rates and nonprofit rates. The sales and event staff are dedicated to service to hospitality.
