Discover elevated living: The Parks at Wilson Creek opens its gates in Celina

North Texas residents looking for an extraordinary way of life need look no further than The Parks at Wilson Creek. Located in the countryside of Celina, Texas, the brand-new Cambridge Companies community is celebrating its grand opening and welcoming future community members to tour its model homes.

Chief Visionary and Marketing Officer Matt Alexander said the goal in the development of the community was to create a place where people can transcend time and immerse themselves in green, open spaces.

“For most people, a home is the single largest investment they will make,” he said. “So we try to design them in such a way that their investment grows. We've seen tremendous growth in our other two Celina communities, Mustang Lakes and Cambridge Crossing, as far as price appreciation.”

Alexander said The Parks got its name because the city of Celina is planning a 100-acre park to put in the center of the community. In addition, the developers were very intentional about incorporating nature into the neighborhood so families could enjoy the headwaters of Wilson Creek and rolling terrain.

Each of the Cambridge Companies communities has a theme that ties elements of the neighborhood together. The theme for The Parks is American architect Frank Lloyd Wright, who is best-known for his residential design, Fallingwater. Alexander said the same themes from Wright’s style are reflected in the clean lines and open spaces of The Parks.

“Because of our Frank Lloyd Wright theme, we’ve done a high-design style and included things like wind art, hardscape elements and elevated landscaping,” he said.

While some communities end up crowded in an effort to use every bit of available space, Alexander said his intention for The Parks was to keep the neighborhood spread out.

These details can be seen in everything from lot layouts to street organization: the street patterns create cul-de-sacs so there is less traffic on the road. This allows kids a place to play, either in the front yard or in the street, while still feeling a sense of safety and security within the community.

“We didn’t line every possible space with a home to bump up land value—instead, we designed it in a way where it’s really nice to drive through,” he said. “It’s one of those things that is subtle, but the feel of the community is really impacted by it.”

In addition to green spaces and spacious streets, residents can enjoy a variety of thoughtful amenities, including:
  • 100-acre city park
  • lifestyle programming
  • sand volleyball court
  • basketball courts
  • pickleball courts
  • 12 lakes
  • fishing
  • pocket parks
  • native open space
  • Celina ISD elementary school, planned to open fall 2025
A future second amenity center featuring pools, sports courts, indoor gathering space, a fitness center, onsite HOA and more

For residents who love the great outdoors, Alexander said one thing he made a top priority was giving people larger backyards than are typical in today’s master-planned communities.

“We’ve designed the community in a way that everyone gets to really enjoy the creek, and as you drive further into the community, there are really generous rear yards where people can have some private space to enjoy the outdoor elements,” he said.

As far as the houses themselves, there are six different product lines offered by David Weekley Homes, Highland Homes, Perry Homes, and Tradition Homes that interested buyers can view on the website. So far, The Parks has sold about 100 homes, and Alexander said he suspects residents could be living in the community by fall 2023.

Front yard maintenance is included in homeowners’ HOA dues, and throughout the community, residents will see the elevated landscaping package developers have put in place along with a series of lakes with water features.

“We pride ourselves on going above and beyond and organizing our communities in such a fashion that it creates a really tranquil area,” Alexander said. “There are a lot of surprises throughout the year that people will love and appreciate as they see them that add a bit of whimsy and fun to the community.”
