Katy Home & Garden Show is the perfect event for anyone looking to build their dream home, upgrade their outdoor living space, or simply get inspiration for their next home improvement project.

The annual show is the largest home and garden show in West Houston, with over 200 booths. This year's event will be held from March 25-26 at the Katy ISD Ag Center, 5801 Katy Hockley Cut Off Road, Katy.

Company president Robyn Cade said the show was organized by RJC Productions to give the people of Katy & West Houston a great show without having to drive into town.

“We've all heard the horror stories of giving money to a contractor and them skipping town and your job not getting done,” Cade said. “The thing I think is so important about the show for consumers is you can come and you can meet with service providers who are going to be coming into your home and get a feel for them before you ever invite them into your home. You can see the jobs that they've done.”

The event provides shoppers with an opportunity to shop around with trusted contractors who can cover every aspect of a home project. Cade said she holds her vendors to strict standards on how they operate their business.

“We want to make sure that they really are trusted service providers and a lot of them have been with us a long time,” Cade said.

Guests can also keep up with the latest home trends at the show, including barndominiums, which are expansive, metal buildings that don’t require any of the wood framings a traditional home does. Those attending the show can find out how the building process works, meet with builders and designers, explore financing options, and see the products used in the construction of a barndominium.

“I've partnered with Stacy Lynn, the premier barndominium designer in the United States, and Josh Powell, one of the biggest barndominium builders in the country.," Cade said. “There's a lot to see in the Barndo Expo area and get some ideas.”

Additionally, the RV Zone is a new attraction that offers something for everyone whether they are newbies or seasoned RVers. Guests will find ideas and inspiration as they walk through the motorhomes and travel trailers on display.

“Another thing that has been around forever is RVs, but since the pandemic, more and more people are buying RVs and choosing to go that route instead of staying in hotels. We saw a huge increase in RV sales from 2020 to 2022,” Cade said. “At the show, we have an RV zone with a variety of different recreational vehicles that people can come out and check out. I like to say if you're looking for stuff for your home or your ‘home away from home’, just come check it out.”

In addition to the new trending attractions, Cade said this year’s show will feature great, local home improvement companies with 42 new who’ve never been in the show before.

“The majority of the companies are from Katy and the surrounding areas in Houston. We have so much planned for this year,” she said.

Katy-area children will also have the opportunity to flex their business skills this year, with more than 20 students ages 6-17 selling unique items at the Youth Entrepreneur Market. The students are taught to think like entrepreneurs and are taught everything from product costs to return on investment for their products, which include bookmarks, bird feeders, soaps, jewelry, succulents, games, puzzles, clothes, cotton candy and lemonade.

“I just love that, because you're getting a whole new set of entrepreneurs that you can help support,” Cade said.
