The ability to walk to school, the gym, and multiple pools without ever leaving the neighborhood is often out of reach, but for residents of Esperanza, this idyllic lifestyle is right in their backyard.
Located just north of San Antonio in Boerne, the master-planned community of Esperanza offers a range of homes, builders, and amenities that accommodate anyone, regardless of life stage. In addition to the existing 1,240 acres, 450 acres of land were just added to Esperanza’s boundaries, allowing for more future growth. In fact, Esperanza will continue to grow roots and expand over the next 20 years. The finished product will be a haven for families with young children, empty-nesters and everyone in between.
Looking ahead to future phases and expansions, Esperanza will feature approximately 3,500 homes, providing the opportunity for families to move throughout the community as their lives grow and change.
“Residents can move up within the community itself,” said Connie Hentonsh, Esperanza’s Vice President of Sales. “By staying within Esperanza even if you decide to move to a different home, you’re able to keep your neighbors and that sense of community that you’ve formed over the years.”
Hentosh said part of Esperanza’s appeal is the absolute thoughtfulness and attention to every detail of the community.
“We agonize over every detail to make sure it’s adding to the community rather than being a distraction,” she said.
The ultimate goal for Esperanza is to welcome all residents to a place they can call home forever. The community already has a walkable Boerne ISD elementary school and plans to add a local fire station as well as a town center for future shopping opportunities.
“The Herff Elementary School building is beautiful and architecturally well-done, and having the school on the grounds allows parents to walk their children to school on the first day and pick them up at 3 p.m. without even having to drive anywhere,” Hentosh said.
Another exciting upcoming addition is Regency at Esperanza, a section specifically designed for residents age 55 and up that will feature homes by Toll Brothers.
“Regency at Esperanza is a community within a community and gives retirees and empty-nesters the freedom to enjoy the company of their own age group while still having convenient access to their families and grandchildren,” Hentosh said.
Regency at Esperanza will offer The Hacienda, a private clubhouse for residents, as well as access to all of Esperanza’s other amenities, which include an 11-acre amenities center with a lazy river, resort pool, and splash pad, as well as sand volleyball courts, the 4-acre Rover Oaks Barque Parque and endless miles of hiking and biking trails.
Esperanza’s year-round activities coordinator makes sure these amenities are put to good use and plans inclusive events for the community residents to enjoy. In addition to family-friendly activities, Esperanza residents also enjoy adults-only events such as poker nights and adult swim nights.
On the horizon, community members can look forward to the addition of sports fields, pickleball courts and additional green space and trails.
The existing amenities as well as behind-the-scenes plans are the innovative work of The Lookout Group, which is the developer of Esperanza. The company has a mantra to “deliver a surprise around every corner.” Hentosh said this mission is what makes it so exciting to be a part of the Esperanza community now, and for years to come.
“There’s that intrigue and excitement of what’s to come, and every project is done above and beyond what people are used to,” she said. “Residents who live here know that, and newcomers will share that excitement and anticipation as the community continues to grow.”
