As a Certified Senior Advisor and long-time caregiver, Sandi Heintz has dedicated her life to helping others. Her business, Right at Home Northwest Houston, has provided numerous home care services to families in the Cypress and Houston areas for the past 9 years. The Right at Home philosophy allows those they serve to remain in their homes for as long as possible.

According to Heintz, God's timing is always perfect, but she is impatient.

“I worked in senior care between when I was 16-23. I had this heart and I knew I was going to be doing something in health care. I raised kids and in 1991, my kids were older and I thought, ‘What am I going to do next?’” Heintz said. “ I know I am supposed to serve seniors because I am a huge advocate for aging with grace and dignity inside the home.”

Heintz said she felt there was a time, place and need for senior care in the community.

“I stumbled upon the Right at Home franchise model. What attracted me was their mission, ‘To improve the quality of life of those we serve.’” It just resonated with me and I didn’t feel called to start a business from ground zero, so I bought a franchise. I believe I was called to God’s hand and feet to serve in our local community and to serve our seniors. That’s my vision.”

Heintz did not intend to start a business, but the company's mission is to serve God with integrity, trustworthiness and compassion in all they do.

“We serve clients where ever people call home. We have a physical office, but our staff is unsupervised in the home,” Heintz said. “They are one-on-one with the client. It can be in skilled nursing care, assisted living facilities, or a memory care community. Typically, what we mostly see is care given in the client’s home or their family's home."

Heintz said she tells her teams there are three customers in their industry: the clients, their family and their caregivers.

“I want to be light in Northwest Houston,” Heintz said. “This is a trust walk, and I want to be your trusted adviser. If we are not the right fit, we will help you find it.”

What sets Right at Home apart is how the company aims to be a part of the navigation and journey for finding the perfect solution for a family’s loved ones. For example, with the rapid changes in technology, Right at Home looks forward to being able to offer future diagnostic tools to give feedback to clients and their families as well as create a care plan based on data to individualized needs. Clients can help keep their loved ones safe through technology solutions Right at Home offers, like a diagnostic tool that helps those with cognitive decline.

“When families are trying to figure out what’s next, the best time to call us is obviously if you are trying to plan. I always asked people, ‘How do you want to end? What choices do you want to make? How can we help you prepare for that long term?’” Heintz said. “We get a lot of people in crisis. What we try to do is walk with families in that process to let them know they are not alone. Here is a company that will walk through those steps with you.”
