There are a large number of high-quality annual plants growing from a small starting plant to a large, beautiful flowering plant in one season.
Shoal Creek Nursery carries everything needed for your next large home landscaping project or just to beautify your small apartment.

Shoal Creek Nursery has served the local Austin community for over 10 years and is owned and operated by Mike and Veronica Sewell. The nursery has undergone significant renovations the past few years in order to enhance the customer shopping experience.

“They purchase a lot of things locally and they grow a significant number of their own plants. It’s very important to them as a local Austin business to have locally grown plants as much as possible,” said Scott McCullough, Director of Marketing at Shoal Creek Nursery.

Shoal Creek Nursery sells a wide variety of plants, imported pottery, water features, gardening supplies and gifts. Among the high-quality items found there are an abundance of annual plants that grow from small starter plant to a large, beautiful flowering plant in a single growing season.

“They also sell a lot of perennials that are native to central Texas,” McCullough said. “They also sell a lot of native grasses. They sell vines like jasmine, shrubbery, trees and cactus, succulents, pottery for both indoor and outdoor. Also different types of pottery, soil amendments, mulch, all types of fertilizer, yard art. You pretty much name it, they sell it.”

Whenever Austinites need help creating the garden of their dreams, the experienced and knowledgeable staff of Shoal Creek Nursery is available to help.

“That’s one of the great things about Shoal Creek is that a significant number of staff members have a lot of experience working for nurseries and/or with their own gardening and flower beds,” McCullough said. “People there are trained to help customers understand what type of landscaping or gardening needs they may have and help guide in how they need to amend the soil, which is where all beautiful plants start from, then assist in selecting the types of plants needed to help them achieve their vision of stunning landscapes and flowerbeds.”

No matter how big or small your home is or whether you are looking to add a plant to your indoor or outdoor space, Shoal Creek Nursery has what you need.

“Even if you live in a little apartment there is a plant for you. There are huge benefits to indoor plants because it improves the air that you breathe and indoor plants act as a filter, plus it beautifies your space,” McCullough said. “For example, Air plants basically require no soil nor maintenance. You put them into little containers and the air along with a little water is all they require. Something like that is a small, green addition to your indoors but it adds incredible beauty as well as health benefits. Shoal Creek sells a wide variety of indoor plants from small and medium to large. I think with the many benefits of indoor plants there is something for everybody. ”

Indoor plants can be displayed in a variety of locations in a small space, including tables, shelves, window sills and corners.

Starting with gardening can be intimidating to many people, but talking to an expert can be the best first step to take.

“No matter how small, no matter what you want to do, no matter what the project is, the people at Shoal Creek Nursery can help guide you. Don’t be afraid to start. Flowers, greenery, plants add such beauty, they have a calming effect,” McCullough said. “The staff is there to help people get started no matter what your level of expertise is.”
