When it comes to the automotive collision repair industry, search and you will be hard-pressed to find a female and veteran-owned facility to cater to those needs. Protech Collision Center in Cy-Fair is a veteran and female-owned repair facility maintained by individuals with more than 20 years of experience in the automotive collision industry.
As a combination, owners Adria and Bryan McLemore also bring a background in finance and accounting; combining their talents, they decided to invest themselves in a business where they could also serve the community.
"It was during COVID we happened to find this location,” Adria said. “At the time, the owners were suffering because of COVID and we felt that we could take the situation and work through it and grow the business. We just really felt that it was something that would give autonomy to be able to run a company with values and principles that we felt we valued as a core running the business."
The location itself has a history within the Cy-Fair community. Previously named Brock’s Collision, it has been in the community for over 34 years. After being sold to different owners and going through several name changes, the site became Protech Collision Center in May 2019.
For 2021, ProTech Collision Center has been recognized as a Better Business Bureau (BBB) Awards for Excellence Award of Distinction recipient. The BBB reviews core values and how businesses operate, employee benefits and more.
"Honestly, I was proud because it was a lot of effort. It made me feel reassured that we are on the right track," Bryan said. Adria and Bryan also believe in giving back to the local community, an aspect setting them apart from other businesses. In early Spring, they held a community fundraiser benefiting local firefighters in Cy-Fair.
"It all started at O'Reilly's, going around to vendors and telling them that I wanted to put something together for the community,” Bryan said. “Since I am prior military, I knew I wanted it to have something to do with military or law enforcement." The McLemores partnered with Cypress Creek Fire Department Station 22 for the community event raising awareness and donations for the station.
"They were enthusiastic about that idea and felt like I did - that everybody needed to get out of the house,” Bryan said. “Along with some of my teammates [at ProTech] and the help of Kroger, we were able to put together one heck of a bash.” The couple also participate in Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Uncorked! Champion Wine and Junior Market Commercial Steer auctions. Additionally, Adria has volunteered over 15 years with the Rodeo Express Committee.
"It is a great way to give back to the community,” Adria said. “It supports our future, our youth."
When it comes to ProTech Collision Center, Bryan feels his most significant benefit that sets ProTech Collision apart from competitors is not managing behind a desk all day. Bryan will be in the shop area working with technicians, even lending a hand, as well as meeting with customers.
"You get a personal aspect here. You don't have to go through hoops to get to me,” Bryan said. “I ask politely that you call the shop first, but I don't think you can get closer than that. I am directly involved with each and every repair. I have a nickname [amongst technicians], "Eagle Eyes." I make sure every repair is exactly how I want it."
Bryan said if anyone in the Cy-Fair community ever has any questions after getting into an accident and are not sure where to turn for guidance, they can call ProTech Collision who will be happy to answer any questions you may have about the accident repair process.
"Whether they choose us or not, we will still provide them with information to help assist them in taking some of that angst out of it," Bryan said. "Choose a repair facility, let the repair facility do the work. If you have to come somewhere, we are glad you came to a good place. We don't look to earn people's business. We look to earn their trust. With their trust, comes their business."
