Since opening in 2020, Cambridge Crossing has paired English countryside charm with an active, amenity-rich lifestyle. Now entering its fifth and final phase of development, the community continues to set the standard for North Texas living.

This year, it was named Community of the Year at the Dallas Builders Association's McSam Awards, and its amenity center, Cambridge Hall, won the trophy for Best Community Amenity.

Distinctive design and room to breathe

Cambridge Crossing offers a distinct look and feel, compared to other master-planned communities in North Texas.

Tree-lined streets, lake view corridors, and carefully maintained green spaces create a polished and welcoming environment for residents.

Matt Alexander, developer of Cambridge Crossing and chief visionary and marketing officer at Cambridge Companies, said the community was designed with a focus on providing more space for residents.

Homesites feature larger backyards than what buyers may find elsewhere. In today's market, many homesites provide buyers with a backyard that is 10 to 20 feet in depth. However, Cambridge Crossing's standard lot sizes regularly offer its residents backyards that are 25 feet deep, with some backyards extending 35 to 50 feet in depth.

This design extends to the layout of the neighborhoods themselves. The community features an abundance of cul-de-sacs and hoop streets, which enhance safety and peace of mind. With minimal through traffic, residents enjoy quieter streets and a heightened sense of security.

Additionally, the community's location near the Dallas North Tollway and Outer Loop provides convenient access throughout the area.

Because Celina is now the No. 1 fastest-growing city in the U.S., Cambridge Crossing's location has become an even greater advantage. Residents are near retail destinations, a new hospital, an upcoming high school and more while still enjoying the spacious feel of a master-planned community.

"The community was developed with the mindset that if you drive farther, you should get more," Alexander said. "Now, people don't have to drive farther, but they still get more."

Next-level amenities on the horizon

This fall, Cambridge Crossing will break ground on its second amenity center, expanding the recreational and gathering spaces available to residents throughout the community.

The new amenity center, designed to complement the award-winning Cambridge Hall, will feature:

  • A lake
  • A resort-style pool
  • An event lawn and amphitheater
  • Additional tennis and pickleball courts
  • A playground
  • Multipurpose rooms
  • A 2,500-square-foot fitness facility
Plans also call for two buildings connected by a breezeway and a central plaza designed to create comfortable gathering spaces year-round.

“[The amenity center] functions and feels like an internal park,” Alexander said.

Creating a close-knit community

An onsite homeowners association and full-time lifestyle director coordinate approximately 150 events each year, ranging from spring and fall festivals to sip and social hours to daddy-daughter dances to craft hour with kids, to name a few.

“The programming creates an environment where people can build friendships through community activities, which enriches their quality of life,” Alexander said.

The community's onsite elementary school, which recently completed its second year, serves as a gathering point for families with elementary-aged children.

Additionally, front-yard maintenance is included for homeowners. This gives residents more time to enjoy the amenities, events and outdoor spaces throughout the neighborhood while ensuring a polished presentation of the community.
