Voters approved the tax rate hike, according to unofficial results, with 61.01% of the 6,348 ballots cast in favor of the increase.

A voter-approved tax rate increase for the North Hays County Emergency Services District No. 1—serving the Dripping Springs, Driftwood and Henly areas—was approved by 62.34% of early voters, or 2,741 of the 4,246 who have cast a ballot before Election Day, according to unofficial results.
Results will remain unofficial until canvassed at a later date.
What's happening
The North Hays EMS board adopted a proposed fiscal year 2025-26 tax rate of $0.05 per $100 valuation in August. That rate, a 60.93% hike from the current rate of $0.03107 per $100 valuation, would require voter approval as it would generate more than the state allowed maximum new revenue.
