Hajimaleki brothers to open Keepers Coastal Kitchen on Slaughter Lane

Restaurateurs and brothers Amir and Ali Hajimaleki, along with chef-partner René Melendes, will open Keepers Coastal Kitchen at 5701 W. Slaughter Lane, Bldg. D, Austin, on July 9.

Named after Amir’s favorite pier in Port Aransas, Keepers will offer sustainably caught seafood from across the country paired with flavors from around the world, according to a press release.

The menu includes items such as fish tacos, po’boys and bowls, including the Maui Seafood Salad, the Bayou Bowl and the Fish Fry Bowl, according to the release. A variety of seasonal boiled seafood served Viet-Cajun style will also be available.

In addition to seafood dishes, the eatery will also offer a Port Aransas-inspired bar with rum- and agave-based drinks, such as mai tais and margaritas, according to the release.

At the family-friendly casual eatery, customers can order via QR code at their tables, and servers will then bring food and drinks out as they are ready. The restaurant will be open from 3-10 p.m. daily and will eventually be open for lunch and takeout services, according to the release.

Amir also owns District Kitchen + Cocktails with one location on Slaughter and another on Shoal Creek Boulevard. The Hajimaleki brothers are also behind Oasthouse Kitchen + Bar, located on RM 620, and plan to open a second location later this year in the same space as Keepers Coastal Kitchen, according to the release. 512-519-9911. https://keepersaustin.com
