Austin-based chain Kerbey Lane Cafe will open new location in San Marcos Nov. 17

The new location of Kerbey Lane Cafe in San Marcos will open Nov. 17 at 221 E. Sessom Drive. This will be the second location not based in Austin, where the chain was founded, with the other located in Round Rock.

The Texas State University Board of Regents approved a 10-year lease with Kerbey Lane Cafe in May 2019, taking the spot on Spring Lake where Saltgrass Steak House used to be.

The cafe will have its soft opening Nov. 17-21 from 11 a.m.-8 p.m. and Nov. 22-28 from 7 a.m.-10 p.m., but it will be closed Nov. 25.

The soft opening will feature 50% off food and nonalcoholic beverages leading up to the grand opening Nov. 29.

Once fully open, the cafe will be open Sun.-Thu. from 7 a.m.-midnight and Fri.-Sat. 7 a.m.-2 a.m.

The cafe will feature indoor seating and an outdoor patio that will be pet-friendly. www.kerbeylanecafe.com
