On May 16, the city of Kyle aims to administer Moderna vaccines to about 1,000 residents at Lehman High School at 1700 Lehman Road.
The event, held from 8 a.m.-5 p.m., will last until available doses run out and is available to anyone above the age of 18.
Appointments are not necessary, and the second dose is planned to be administered at Lehman High School June 13, between 8 a.m.-5p.m.
It will be a drive-thru event, and face coverings are required to be worn over both the nose and mouth.
Kyle partnered with State Representative Erin Zwiener's office, Hays CISD and the National Guard to organize the event, and more information can be found online.
Two additional clinics are planned in Hays County over the next several days, with one in Wimberley and another in Dripping Springs. The county typically offers the Pfizer vaccine, which can now be given to people over the age of 12 with parental consent following an FDA expansion of its Emergency Use Authorization.
