At the end of early voting for the May 1 election, Hays County residents cast 4,869 ballots, with 204 delivered in the mail and 4,665 cast at six in-person voting locations.
Hays County has 142,676 voters with active registrations, which means the county has a participation rate of 3.41%.
There are 12 voting locations on election day.
Depending on where they reside in the county, voters can decide on six Hays CISD bond propositions, two HCISD board positions and a San Marcos CISD board position. Other ballot items include bond propositions for a new utility district in Buda, which would cover a planned 531-development in Buda annexed in 2020 called Cole Springs. The North Hays Municipal Utility District also has director positions on the ticket.
