Buda City Council approved a motion to award Halff Associates Inc a contract to begin work on planning for a downtown master plan, a comprehensive plan, a trails master plan, and an FM 1626 and FM 926 corridor study for the city of Buda.
According to Buda city staff, these plans will provide guidance for the physical development, redevelopment and future direction of growth and governance within Buda’s planning area. This planning process and the resulting policies will be critical to the city’s ability to promote and manage growth, and protect and enhance key areas of importance while accommodating future trends.
Chelsea Irby, planning team leader at Halff Associates, said the downtown plan will look at the future of downtown in Buda, such as how spaces can be used and reimagined as well as how areas can be transformed, if possible.
Irby said there is a lot of momentum in Texas for developing new trails and updating existing ones. The trails master plan will give city staff the ability to look into funding for new trails.
