Sessom Drive in San Marcos will have lane closures through April 28
The city of San Marcos is constructing improvements on Sessom Drive from Aquarena Springs Drive to North LBJ Drive. The construction will force traffic to one lane on certain areas of the road. The project scope includes addition and improvement of bicycle and pedestrian facilities on the road as well as reconstruction of the intersection of State Street and Sessom.
The San Marcos CISD board of trustees meets tonight at 6 p.m.
Trustees will receive an update from staff on the potential use of portable buildings to accommodate overcrowding on some district campuses. The board will also consider approval of budget amendments. The meeting takes place at the Felipe Reyna District Offices, 501 S. LBJ Drive, San Marcos. The meeting agenda can be viewed here.
The Hays CISD board of trustees meets tonight at 5:30 p.m.
The board will consider granting a Freeport exemption, which exempts companies from paying taxes on certain goods located within the district and is seen as a potential boon for economic development in the area. The board will also consider approval of construction documents for the district’s 14th elementary school and third high school. The meeting agenda can be viewed here.
Hays County and the Texas Department of Transportation host an open house and public hearing at 5 p.m. Tuesday
The county and TxDOT are proposing a realignment of FM 2001 from I-35 to SH 21 in eastern Hays County. The 8.4-mile project would cost about $35.5 million, according to a TxDOT news release. The open house, which provides project materials and information to attendees, begins at 5 p.m., and a public hearing begins at 6 p.m. The meeting takes place at Studio Estates Club House, 6880 Goforth Road, Kyle.
