TxDOT announces full weekend closure for the Loop 1604 I-35 overpass

The Texas Department of Transportation announced a series of highway closures from Aug. 23-26 as part of the I-35 Northeast Expansion Project.

Long story short

According to a press release from TxDOT, portions of 1604 and I-35 will be fully closed from 9 p.m. Aug. 23 to 5 a.m. Aug. 26 while steel girders are being installed.

The multiple full closures include westbound and eastbound overpass of Loop 1604 at I-35, westbound and eastbound 1604 collector ramps at I-35, southbound I-35 to eastbound Loop 1604 connector ramp and northbound I-35 to westbound Loop 1604.

Detour information:

• All eastbound traffic on Loop 1604 will be redirected to the Pat Booker Road Exit on South I-35
• All westbound traffic on Loop 1604 will be redirected to North I-35
• All northbound traffic on I-35 will exit at Olympia Parkway
• All southbound traffic on I-35 will be redirected to Loop 1604 West
