According to an April 25 announcement from the Texas Department of Transportation, multiple long-term closures have started or are scheduled for the sections of I-35 near Loop 1604.

FM 1518 to Loop 1604
Through Aug. 2, 2025, the left lane on the northbound frontage road of I-35 from Forum Parkway to Forum Access Road will be closed for construction work.
The right lane on northbound main lanes of I-35 at Forum Parkway will be closed through Oct. 6. Alongside this closure, the right lane on the northbound exit ramp and the left lane on northbound frontage road from Forum Access Road to Olympia Parkway will be closed through Oct. 6.
For southbound closures, the left lane of southbound frontage road of I-35 from Forum Parkway to Old Austin Road will be closed through Aug. 2 for bridge and roadway work.
Loop 1604 to Toepperwein Road
Beginning May 1, the northbound collector and left lane on I-35 frontage road from Pat Booker Road to Loop 1604 will be closed for bridge work. This closure will go through Feb. 3.
Through Sept. 8, the left lane closure on southbound frontage road of I-35 from McMorris Boulevard to Pat Booker will be closed for construction.
