Work crews leading the expansion and improvement of Loop 1604 in north central San Antonio will close segments of the freeway in each direction nightly now through March 1.

Texas Department of Transportation officials said project contractors will close the main westbound lanes of Loop 1604 from the Blanco Road exit ramp to the I-10 interchange, and the eastbound main lanes from the Bitters Road exit ramp to the Stone Oak Parkway entrance ramp from 9 p.m.-5 a.m. daily through March 1. This series of closures began Feb. 25.
According to TxDOT representatives, the closure will permit work crews to set barriers and do striping in preparation for a traffic switch.
