Contractors handling the ongoing Loop 1604 expansion project have scheduled major road closures to take place through Feb. 19 in two areas.

The details

According to Texas Department of Transportation officials, in one set of nightly closures, project contractors will keep the Loop 1604 westbound main lanes from the Lockhill Selma Road exit ramp to I-10 closed from 9 p.m.-5 a.m. daily through Feb. 17. This set of nightly closures began Feb.14.

TxDOT officials said westbound main lane motorists here will exit via the Lockhill Selma Road exit ramp. Traffic will continue on the westbound frontage road through the Lockhill Selma Road, Vance Jackson Road and I-10 intersections, and re-enter the westbound main lanes at the entrance ramp west of I-10.

In another closure directly affecting the Loop 1604/I-10 interchange, work crews will also fully close the following segments of freeway from 9 p.m. Feb. 16 through 5 a.m. Feb. 19:
  • I-10 westbound cloverleaf exit ramp to westbound Loop 1604
  • Loop 1604 westbound cloverleaf exit ramp to westbound I-10
  • Loop 1604 westbound frontage road at the I-10 interchange
  • I-10 eastbound frontage road between the Loop 1604 eastbound and westbound frontage roads
TxDOT officials said motorists trying to take any of these routes during the construction period will be required to take the appropriate detours.
