What’s happening?
During construction, the road will be limited to one lane and only drivers traveling southbound from Loop 1604 towards Toepperwein Road will be able to access the road, according to city staff.
Construction does not start until the Live Oak city limits, meaning the intersection at the frontage road of Loop 1604 and Lookout Road will not experience closures due to traffic changes.
The background
The project is part of an $18 million transportation bond approved by Live Oak residents in 2022. In 2023, City Council authorized the allocation of $7.42 million for the first phase of road construction projects, which included 13 roads in the city.
In November, City Council authorized an additional 13 residential streets to be worked on under the bond.
