In 2022, Live Oak residents voted for the approval of an $18 million bond to be used for work on roads, bridges and sidewalks.

On May 30, City Council authorized the city manager to enter an agreement in the amount of $7.42 million with Texas Materials Group for the first phase of the project.

The project

Director of Public Works Mark Wagster said the first phase of the project will provide needed rehabilitation and new paving for the arterial roads within city limits, including Toepperwein Road, Judson Road and O’Connor Road.

Alongside the major road projects, portions of local streets will also be rehabilitated with new paving.

The local streets include:
  • Marble Lake
  • Forest Bluff
  • Wilderness Trail
  • Cool Sands Drive
  • Belgrave Way
  • Bressani Way
  • Welsford
  • Rimwood Street
  • Dry Canyon Trail
  • Sage Oak

City Council also authorized up to $1.8 million in change orders for additional work on the roads. A timeline on the projects has not been determined.
