This closure is part of the I-35 Northeast Expansion Project, which will expand the main lanes of I-35 by constructing around 9.5 miles of elevated lanes.
What you need to know
The closure is scheduled between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m., weather permitting.
Detours will be in place to move traffic around the closed frontage roads. Northbound travelers on the I-35 mainlanes should use the Schertz Parkway exit to access the southbound frontage road, then use the exit at Olympia Parkway to follow detour signs leading to the open section of the frontage road.
Travelers on northbound I-35 frontage road at Forum Parkway should turn left at Forum Parkway bridge, then left at the next traffic signal to enter the southbound I-35 frontage road following detour signs.
