On March 29, the Texas Department of Transportation announced the installation of temporary traffic signals at the intersection of Lookout Road and the frontage road of Loop 1604.

This change is due to work in the area as part of the I-35 Northeast Expansion Central Project, which began in May.

With the removal of the four-way stop at the intersection, drivers are encouraged to be cautious of the new traffic change.

Some residents have given feedback regarding the change on social media, claiming that the new signalization has caused traffic congestion and delays.

According to Live Oak city staff, on March 30, the timing of the cycles have been reworded to help correct the congestion. Despite this change, residents continue to claim significant delays in travel time.

No update has been given regarding the timeline of the temporary traffic signals.
