Two long-term I-35 closures are set to begin Feb. 24.

The exit ramp from southbound I-35 to Randolph Boulevard will be temporarily closed, and traffic will use a temporary ramp during the closure. The ramp is expected to reopen April 24.

Alternating lane closures will take place on southbound I-35 Frontage Road between Thousand Oaks Drive and Whirlwind Drive.

According to the Texas Department of Transportation, the closure will focus on reconstruction and structural work of the roadway. The project is expected to be complete Nov. 10.

These closures are connected to the I-35 Northeast Expansion Central Project, which is a $1.5 billion initiative to improve 9.5 miles along I-35 from I-410 North to FM 3009.
