On Dec. 22, mill and overlay work will begin on Elbel Road. This project will reduce traffic to one lane in each direction for the entire length of the road.

According to the city of Schertz, work is expected to be done on the south side of the street first, and lanes will be switched once south side work is complete.

The expected completion time is by the end of the day Dec. 24, and the remaining road work for the project will not require long sections of lane closures.

The city requests divers slow down, pay attention to traffic control devices, drive safe and allow extra time to drive through the construction area.
