The city of Schertz on July 27 announced the completion of Phase 3 of the Ashley Park Reconstruction Project.

Phase 1 of the project was completed in 2019 and reconstructed the basketball court, replaced playground equipment, provided a cosmetic update to the restroom facility, provided an accessible route to the playground and more.

Phase 2 included the demolition of the failing asphalt trail and reconstruction of a concrete loop trail that is fully Americans with Disabilities Act accessible and extends the accessible route to the restroom, toddler playscape and one of the picnic areas.

Phase 3 of the park renovation added an additional playscape feature and a picnic pavilion available for party reservations.

The entire project cost $351,000 and was funded through the city general fund. More information on city parks can be found here.
