Banos joined University Health in 2015 and serves as the executive vice president and chief operating officer, according to the organization website.

According to a May 28 news release, the selection of Banos as president and CEO concludes a five-month national recruitment process following the announcement that CEO George B. Hernández, Jr. will retire.
