Four individuals—Cody Hicks, Summer Marie-Brown, Shari McDaniel and Robert Mahoney—will be on the ballot for Cibolo City Council, Place 7 in November.

Some background

McDaniel campaigned for the Place 5 seat in 2023, after it was left vacant when Mark Allen was elected mayor, according to previous reporting by Communtiy Impact.

Marie-Brown ran for Cibolo Mayor in 2022, before losing to Allen in a runoff race.

Mahoney has served on the dais in the Place 3 seat since November 2022. Hicks also ran for mayor and the Place 2 seat in 2022.

What uniquely qualifies you for this position?



I am currently serving as vice president of the GVSUD Board of Directors, treasurer of the CRWA board of trustees and on several Cibolo boards and committees. I bring proven leadership, sound decision making and a strong commitment to the community.



What do you see as the greatest challenge for the city of Cibolo? 



Balancing rapid growth with the infrastructure, services and resources needed to support it. Roads, utilities, schools and first responders must keep pace with development. Smart planning is essential to preserve our quality of life while ensuring we remain a safe, thriving and family friendly community.



What is something you want Cibolo residents to know about you? 



I am approachable, I listen and I truly care about the future of Cibolo. I will lead with accountability, transparency and a focus on making decisions that protect and improve the quality of life for every resident. I'm committed to building a community that we can all be proud of.



What will be your top priorities if you are elected?



Expand support for local and veteran owned businesses to grow our local economy, support police, fire, and EMS with the funding, staff and tools they need to protect our families and neighborhoods, plan responsibly for the future to ensure infrastructure keeps pace with the rapid growth, expand parks, recreation and...












Robert Mahoney



Occupation & Experience: Law enforcement, Cibolo City Council since 1992; Master Plan Advisory Committee; SCUCISD Strategic Planning Board







What uniquely qualifies you for this position?



I worked in city government and public schools for forty years in Dallas and Midland. I have police experience and a wide understanding of many local government operations and financial matters. I volunteered for years in the youth sports environment in support of my six children.



What do you see as the greatest challenge for the city of Cibolo?



Attracting a variety of retail and commercial entities is most needed as it will create jobs and diversity and lead to revenue sources that help with infrastructure and parks.



What is something you want Cibolo residents to know about you?



My life and my career have been about helping the community and society around me, often taking on responsibilities that most don’t have time for. I don’t want status or recognition, just a chance to serve others.



What will be your top priorities if you are elected to this position?



Public safety. Street maintenance. Attracting and retaining quality city employees. Planning for our long-term water needs must not be neglected.












Summer Marie-Brown
